How Can I Help

The reasons people seek counselling are often layered and deeply personal. You may be navigating anxiety, trauma, relationship or family pressures, cultural expectations, or the lasting impact of past experiences - or a combination of many things at once.

You don't need to fit neatly into a label or have a clear starting point. The areas listed below reflect some of the common reasons people reach out for counselling. Many of these experiences can overlap or evolve over time. Counselling offers a supportive space to explore these experiences with care, curiosity, and respect, at a pace that feels right for you.

Some of the areas I commonly support with include:

Emotional Wellbeing

- Experiencing anxiety, stress, or overwhelm

- Feeling low, unmotivated, or emotionally numb

- Struggling with sleep or insomnia

- Navigating self-esteem or self-worth challenges

Trauma and Past Experiences

- Living with trauma or post-traumatic stress (PTSD)

- Processing difficult or abusive experiences

- Understanding the impact of domestic or intimate partner violence

- Coping with the emotional effects of fraud or scams

- Managing life with long-term health conditions or chronic pain

Relationships and Family

- Working through relationship difficulties, including conflict, infidelity, separation or divorce

- Exploring family and relationship dynamics

- Navigating changes in close relationships

- Understanding challenges in peer or social connections

Identity, Culture, and Life Transitions

- Navigating cultural and intergenerational pressures

- Balancing tradition with personal needs and autonomy

- Exploring women's experiences, roles, and societal expectations

- Understanding cultural or racial identity and a sense of belonging

- Adjusting to life transitions, uncertainty, or periods of change

Addiction and Coping

- Managing experiences with addiction or substance use

- Exploring how addiction within relationships or families may affect you

This list is not exhaustive, and many people come to therapy with experiences that don't fit neatly into one category.
